ANACON SYSTEMS INTRODUCES 
THE EagleDriveTM SERIES OF
GENERAL PURPOSE VARIABLE FREQUENCY DRIVES FOR
1-PHASE AND 3-PHASE AC INDUCTION MOTORS

New: EagleDrive1TM Series Provides an Industry-First, Off-the-Shelf, Single-Phase Variable Frequency Drives in the Range of 0.17 to 1.5 HP.
New: EagleDrive3TM Series, Off-the-Shelf, Three-Phase VFD's in the Range of 0.5 to 120 HP.

Atlantic City, New Jersey   January 14, 2002 Today, at the Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration (AHR) Exposition, Anacon Systems introduced the EagleDrive TM Series, of Variable Frequency Drives (VFD's) that connect to worldwide electrical supplies for variable speed control of both Single-Phase and Three-Phase AC Induction Motors. The EagleDrive1 TM Series is an industry-first, designed for use with Single-Phase AC Induction motors and is available in 115V or 230V at power levels up to 1.5 HP. The EagleDrive3 TM Series for Three-Phase AC Induction motors is available in 200 - 240V (1 or 3-phase input) at power levels up to 3.0 HP, and with 380 - 480V (3-phase) at power levels up to 120 HP. Simple programming and an integrated infrared link combine to minimize the overall applied cost of an EagleDrive TM solution. Applications include Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC), compressors, material handling, pumping and machine tools.

The EagleDrive TM Series of VFD's share the following features::

  • Drive efficiency typically 95%
  • Overload ratings of 150% for 60 seconds
  • Selectable Inverter switching frequencies

  • Programmable inputs (3 Digital, 1 Analog)
  • Galvanically isolated control terminal inputs
  • Optional Filters to meet EMC standards
  • Meets UL, CSA (UL508c), CE (EN60204-1, EN50081)
  • EagleEyeTM - remote control, hand-held programmer (option)
  • EagleVisionTM - WindowsTM based application program to store parameters and data (option)

The EagleDrive TM Series with 115V "in" / 115V "out" or 230V "in" / 230V "out" at power levels up to 1.5 HP has additional features:

  • Speed range of 0-100 Hz
  • Ten (10) selectable V/f curves available

The EagleDrive3 TM Series available with 200 - 240V (1 or 3-phase input) at power levels up to 3.0 HP and with 380 - 480V (3-phase) at power levels up to 120 HP has additional features:

  • Speed range of 0 to 30,000 RPM with regulation @1%
  • Minimum full load torque - 3 Hz
  • Selectable spinning start function
  • Braking resistors for Sizes 2 and larger (option)
